Focusing on biodiversity means comprehending that natural losses due to over-exploitation of natural resources and human activities are a threat equalling, if not surpassing, the climate crisis. Natural capital losses, like species extinctions, are permanent. They can not be reverted at future times and need present actions.  

Effective conservation relies on the
continuous and accurate monitoring and mapping of biodiversity. They allow timely detection of trends or changes in natural habitats and define mitigating actions for wildlife protection, improving the conservation results.

We focus our attention where biodiversity is greatest challenged, at the frontiers between the wild and human environment. These habitats, such as coastal seas, are unique hidden worlds, which modern technologies make visible.

At Witted, we develop new deep-tech tools, based on robotics, Artificial Intelligence, and Earth Observation, meant to act as new touch-points between humans and nature.
They will empower all the conservation stakeholders, from researchers to practitioners and policymakers, with new senses and insights to define the next generation's approaches to biodiversity management.
